Graeme Souness Roasts United’s Transfer Choices…

Graeme Souness is not a happy camper! The former Liverpool star is in a tizzy over Manchester United’s decision to sell Scott McTominay to Napoli last summer for a mere ÂŁ25 million. After spending seven years plotting his goals at Old Trafford, McTominay decided to swap the dreary English rain for sunny Naples. And voila! He’s thriving under the iron rule of Antonio Conte, with Napoli in the hunt for the Serie A title. Meanwhile, Manchester United fans are chewing their fingernails off, as their beloved team lags in a disappointing 13th place in the Premier League.

In his Daily Mail column, Souness didn’t hold back, “Manchester United, what were you thinking? You must be regretting selling McTominay as he’s scoring goals like they’re going out of fashion in Italy!” Souness wagged his finger at United’s brain-trust, labeling the decision a colossal blunder and a perfect example of United’s comedy of errors in mismanagement. To rub it in, United shelled out ÂŁ100 million on new players and one can almost imagine McTominay’s smirk from Naples.

Adding salt to United’s wound, former Chelsea star, Pat Nevin, also jumped on the bandwagon. Branding the sale a “monster mistake,” he claims United undersold McTominay initially priced at ÂŁ50 million. Scottish fans collectively raised eyebrows, thinking the ÂŁ25million deal was a steal! Let’s hope United didn’t sell his contract with the club cafeteria’s secret pie recipe – the only thing they might regret more!
