Tierney’s Tango at the VAR Booth…

Our fearless football universe is on the brink of drama as the Premier League has crowned VAR Viking, Paul ‘The Whistle Wizard’ Tierney, to helm the all-seeing eye at the Manchester United vs Manchester City showdown this Sunday at the Theatre of Dreams! Last Wednesday, Tierney was at the cosmic center of VAR’s galaxy while surfing the screens at the twice-annual Liver-Battle, playing umpire among the echelons of Everton and Liverpool—but chose to chill instead of check a clobber that had fans yelling at their karma chameleons!

During that game, Everton’s James ‘The Tackler’ Tarkowski took a page from a rugby rulebook, turned into an action hero, and dived cleavage-deep into Liverpool’s Alexis ‘The Little Magician’ Mac Allister in a tackle so spicy it would’ve sent Peppa Pig packing. Whilst Mac Allister saw his football life flash before his eyes, referee Sam ‘Smooth Call’ Barrott awarded just a cheeky yellow card, nodding in agreement with Tierney through a VAR communication line we’re pretty sure was dialed to ‘yoga zone.’

Tongues are wagging like nervous dachshunds about this weekend’s referee adventure! Will Double T, Tim ‘Woody Whisperer’ Wood, and top hat referee extraordinaire John ‘The Judicious Jackal’ Brooks keep calm and carry on through the Mancunian football monarchy madness? Stay tuned for footy folklore’s next chapter—a match where VAR decisions might just be as topsy-turvy as a squirrel on a skateboard!
