United’s Europa League Woes and Keane’s Glee…

Manchester United are back to light up the Europa League stage…with fireworks or possibly flares, as they face Real Sociedad tonight. Meanwhile, Roy Keane, the legendary midfielder and part-time comedian, is still fuming like a kettle over Christian Eriksen’s comedic confession that FC Twente “wanted it more.” Ouch, that one’s going to leave a bruise!

Keane, never one to shy away from bold statements, expressed zero surprise at the subsequent manager swap in October with the dramatic flair of a soap opera. Out went Erik ten Hag, in came Ruben Amorim, who now finds himself knee-deep in hot water. With United crashing out of the FA Cup by Fulham and the League Cup a distant memory, Amorim’s start is less dream debut, more daydream nightmare.

The current form of United resembles a wobbly teapot on a rollercoaster track. Tonight’s game against the formidable Real Sociedad is their chance for redemption, but beware—a European return next season without lifting the trophy seems far fetched unless they dial up their game like a megastar’s concert. If Keane doesn’t recognize United, perhaps it’s time for the team to hit the identity store; they sure have the budget for it!
