Everton’s Designer Dishes Out Stadium Tips…
Hold onto your hard hats, football fans – the mastermind behind Everton’s shiny new stadium is throwing some seriously cheeky shade at Manchester United. Enter Dan Meis, the Picasso of sports arenas, who has been dazzling with his design for Everton’s ÂŁ760 million Bramley-Moore Dock stadium. Our Toffees are gearing up to call this place home next season, leaving Goodison Park behind after 133 years of epic memories.
Meis, who seems to multitask as both architect and philosopher, offers a playful nudge to United and Chelsea, who are eyeing new venues. “Listen up, folks,” he says, donning his best soccer-architect hat. “Don’t just plunk down a massive, shiny thingamajig in Manchester! This baby was all about Liverpool, Merseyside, and bricks! None of that generic jazz.” He believes English stadiums should be as unique as their overly enthusiastic fans.
When grilled about United’s brain-melting 100,000-seater ambition, Meis, clearly channeling his inner scribe, cheers them on – but with a wink. “Ambition is fab, kiddos! I adore Norman Foster, but sometimes smaller is mega, ya know?” So, Man United, make sure your new digs are extra-special, just like your die-hard fans who deserve more than another ginormous, cookie-cutter coliseum!
