Harry Amass’ First Steps in the Big League…
In a plot twist worthy of a soap opera, 18-year-old Harry Amass finally got to strut his stuff in the Manchester United disco of dreams. Four weeks after a cameo that was cooler than a penguin in a fridge against Leicester City, Ruben ‘The Shuffle’ Amorim chose to give Amass a whirl against Newcastle United. With Thursday’s Europa League dance against Lyon looming, Amorim spun the starting lineup like a DJ on too much Red Bull, and Amass jammed into the left wing-back gig.
Our boy Harry glided over the pitch like a gazelle in football boots, making a whopping 31 ball touches, more than a fidgety cat in a yarn factory. He nailed an 85% pass accuracy — a math teacher’s dream. And despite sending one shot into orbit, folks were impressed. Once a Watford wonderkid, Amass has been climbing the Red Devil ranks with his electric feet and rocket-launcher crosses. Former mentor Omer Riza chirped about his attacking wonder but raised eyebrows about his defensive kung-fu.
Since Amorim took the wheel at United, the team has adopted a 3-4-2-1 look, with wing-backs zipping wider than a rubber band in a slingshot. Although seasoned like a well-aged cheese, Luke Shaw’s legs might not keep pace with those of Amorim’s wing-back marathons, paving the highway for Amass to jet ahead. As fans ponder if Amass could be the real Slim Shady to Patrick Dorgu’s throne, the stage is set for a left-wing-back showdown. Watch out world; these Red Devils are coming at you like a pepperoni pizza with extra jalapenos!
