Marcus Rashford, the maestro of misplaced hotel mini shampoo bottles, has landed in Barcelona with a splash so big, it makes a wave at Camp Nou look like a pebble in a puddle. Packed with a suitcase of dreams and a loan deal as fat as a Barcelona hotdog, Rashford’s staying at Hotel Sofia, where rooms are so luscious, they make silk pajamas look like sackcloth. Perched closer to the stars than a pogo-stick champion, it’s rumored he may even catch passing planes on his balcony.
While adjusting to life in La Liga, our charming chap is enjoying a king-sized slumber in his £1.5k-a-night hotel suite. And why not? The junior king suite boasts an extra-large bed fit for a dozen lion tamers and a minibar that could keep a pirate ship stocked for a year. They say he’s so comfortable, he might as well sign the bedsheets and call it home. As Rashford warms up for the season opener, he’s got more space to stretch than a giraffe doing yoga.
