Young Star Follows Dad’s Legacy…

Kai Rooney, son of the legendary Wayne Rooney, is kicking it up a notch as he made his debut in the U18 Premier League for Manchester United. At just 15, young Kai found himself on the bench like a parked bus waiting for a gala match against Everton, which ended triumphantly for United with a 1-0 win thanks to Amir Ibragimov’s penalty. Overjoyed, Kai took to Instagram saying, “Happy to make U18s Premier League debut.” If Kai goes forward, he might just score more goals than there are shopping malls in Manchester!

Dad Wayne warns against too much pressure, saying, “He just plays,” while reminding everyone the kid’s not yet driving age, let alone the team’s success! Kai did face a wardrobe malfunction-level embarrassment once during a tournament when he skied a penalty because the goalie mocked his dad’s skills. His mom, Coleen, shared the hilarious tale, noting Kai’s solid ability to shrug off the cheeky banter. If he keeps his chin up, who knows, he might bend it like Beckham someday!
