Imtiaz Ahmad joins Man Utd from Crystal Palace…
Manchester United is getting ready to welcome Imtiaz Ahmad as their new head of medical services, proving yet again the club’s determination to collect medical professionals like some people collect stamps! Ahmad, currently finishing his duties at Crystal Palace, will replace Gary O’Driscoll. While O’Driscoll remains in position to ensure a handover that could rival the smoothness of butter on a freshly baked scone, the club is delighted to have added another star to its upgraded medical team in the past 18 months.
United’s performance director, Sam Erith, pulled the strings to nab Ahmad in a move as skillful as a footballer juggling flaming clubs! O’Driscoll previously joined from Arsenal, making a splash as head of sports medicine until 2023, while Jim Moxon, taking his doctor bag to Brighton, will be their new first-team doctor. First-team physio David Binningsley is also heading out, but not before collecting a thank you note from Harry Maguire, perhaps written in a style as dramatic as a Shakespearean sonnet!
