Teen Wonder Benched for Europe’s Big Show…

Man Utd’s Europa League hopes are basically broken, or so it seems, because their 17-year-old sensation, Chido Obi, can’t take the European stage by storm. Poor Obi might have to watch from the sidelines eating popcorn while his pals try to score goals.

Obi, who’s practically fresh from his 17th birthday cake, made people turn with his nifty moves against Fulham in the FA Cup. It’s been a roller-coaster ride after that, where he’s had more pitch time than a fair ride at a carnival. Yet, Manchester United is still in trouble, it seems, without their teenage prodigy hitting the turf in Europe.

With stars like Rasmus Hojlund and Joshua Zirkzee not lighting up the skies with goals, maybe Obi makes them feel on their toes. But alas, UEFA rules are rules, and Obi doesn’t pass the minimum stay with the club to be eligible for the B List—including a regulation basically saying, “Sorry, kid, no two years, no fun.”

So, hold your horses, social media! Worry not, because Obi is in for the long haul. Think of it as Obi taking a little more time to marinate before serving mouth-watering displays—and perhaps avoiding the Europa League ‘splash zone’ isn’t all that bad!
