Man United Stumble in Carabao Cup Clash…

Manchester United’s goalkeeper, Andre Onana, took the spotlight for all the wrong reasons after his blunders against Grimsby Town gave the League Two team a whopping 2-0 lead in their Carabao Cup second round game. It was Onana’s first game back this season due to pre-season injury and rumors swirling about his future at Old Trafford. Imagine trying to win your coach’s trust while wearing clown shoes! Grimsby outplayed United in the first half, with Charles Vernam scoring in the 22nd minute as Onana decided to respond slower than a turtle on holiday. Then, another Onana oopsie followed when he hilariously missed a straightforward corner, leaving Tyrell Warren’s grandma could’ve tapped the ball in.

The scene was described as “car crash TV” by Sky Sports commentator, Alan Smith, who might have had popcorn ready for the theatrics. Onana’s attempt at fielding the ball was akin to watching a cat try to juggle bowling pins! BBC Radio’s Chris Sutton couldn’t believe his eyes either, as Onana’s attempts to catch the ball looked like extreme dodgeball moves. “Incredible,” Sutton said of Onana’s slip-ups, which were more spellbinding than a magician’s act. If United’s goalkeeping doesn’t improve soon, the players might as well bring out lawn chairs and enjoy the show!
