Potential Squad Numbers for Sesko…
It looks like Manchester United are about to nab RB Leipzig’s striker Benjamin Sesko, with an agreement reportedly reached at last. The deal could lighten United’s wallet by ÂŁ66.4 million, sprinkled with an extra ÂŁ7.4 million in add-ons—enough cash to buy a small island or two! Newcastle also wanted Sesko and could offer Champions League football, but United’s fancy handshakes seem to have won him over anyway. Having signed Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo already, United look set with their attacking lineup as Sesko packs his bags for England, presumably with his English-to-Northern dictionary in tow!
With Sesko basically hearing the Old Trafford roar already, fans are now speculating on what number he’ll sport on his fancy new jersey. His favorite No. 30 got snatched by Diego Leon faster than socks disappear in a dryer. No. 21 might be his choice if Antony finally bids United goodbye. However, if Antony clings on like a stubborn piece of gum, Sesko might have to settle elsewhere. Chances are also out for No. 11 due to Joshua Zirkzee’s firm grip on it, though No. 9 might open up like a cereal box as Rasmus Hojlund considers his future. Taking a hint from the ghosts of jerseys past, the No. 14, last worn by Christian Eriksen, is waiting in the wings or he could try the higher numbers like a bingo call—how thrilling!
